The host of Miss Universe has shared a picture on Instagram of the moment he apologised to Miss Philippines after mistakenly announcing Miss Colombia as the victor of the annual beauty pageant.
Steve Harvey reportedly missed a crucial rehearsal for the Miss Universe finale before his epic blunder of announcing the wrong victor during the live TV broadcast.
"I was standing there reading the card", he explained during a backstage press conference, about the moments after announcing Miss Colombia had won the competition.
The crown was removed from the Miss Columbia's head and placed on the head of the victor Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach of the Philippines.
Wurtzbach reacts after she is called back to the stage so that she could be crowned Miss Universe.
Garrido said she was shocked, but told herself that "everything happens for a reason, I just don't know why".
Other contestants, notably Miss Germany, muddled the matter further.
Harvey says no one feels worse than he does about his mistake awarding Colombia the crown before Miss Universe. "I really couldn't believe it, I was so upset", Riek said, adding that she "was really happy for Colombia - she really deserved it".
The unexpected turn of event has made an impact through social media because of the wrong information made by Steve Harvey.
Missosology has another post showing numerous contestants chanting "Colombia" even after Miss Philippines was crowned.
Be that as it may, Trump tweeted after the pageant, "Very sad what happened last night at the Miss Universe Pageant".
