Texas high school Haeli Wey teacher, arrested over 'sexual contact' with students

Travis County Sheriff's Detectives arrested a former Westlake High School teacher on Friday following two alleged "inappropriate relationships" with students at the school.

Local station KVUE said the first student told investigators he met Wey through a student ministry program in June and she later accompanied the student and his family to Africa during the summer.

The math teacher from Westlake High school in Austin, Texas was jailed on Thursday after allegations the woman had sex with one of the students on at least ten different occasions.

Both the students were 17 years old at the time of the trysts. They kissed each other, fondled each other and had other, unspecified sexual contact inside Wey's home, the arrest affidavit says. He reportedly ended things with Wey when "he found out she had been on a hike with another student".

In Round Rock, the community was shocked to hear of the arrest of former McNeil High School coach and teacher Christopher Cotten, accused of sending lewd photos to a 16-year-old girl and allegedly touching her inappropriately.

"On Friday, October 23, Westlake High School Administrators received an initial report of inappropriate electronic and social media communications between a female math teacher and a male student at Westlake High School", Dr. Tom Leonard wrote, who is the superintendent at Eanes ISD. The district is making counselors available for staff and students that have been affected by the incident. Her bond was set at $75,000.
